Note: Omnimax and Planetarium shows will be extra charge as well as open to the general public this evening. A listing of shows will be published next week.

Exhibits:

MythBusters:  The Explosive Exhibit (Featured Exhibit Hall)

It's a tough job separating truth from urban legend, but the MythBusters do it well. Using real science, the team from the show does more than explain how something may or may not be scientifically possible; through trial and error, the team actually demonstrates it. Now, this hands-on, minds-on exhibition sparks that same creative MythBusting experimentation. This time YOU are the MythBuster!

Desert Air Photographs by George Steinmetz (Turbine Mezzanine)

An exhibition featuring images of the world’s deserts by award-winning National Geographic photographer George Steinmetz, Desert Air includes breathtaking photographs of sand dunes, human habitation, wildlife and vast expanses of the world’s last great wildernesses, captured from the unique vantage point of the world’s lightest and slowest-moving aircraft: Steinmetz’s experimental, foot-launched, motorized paraglider.

Turbine Hall

Experiment with technology and the physical sciences in this hall named for the large turbine generator that serves as its focal point. Learn how technology affects our daily lives and changes our future. From giant robotic arms, to the Inventors' Ball Room, to a suspension bridge crossing the Turbine Hall.

Earth Science Hall

Located on the second floor of the museum, the Earth Science Hall focuses on geology and tectonics, weather and climate, and their interrelationship with life, both past and present.   The centerpiece of the hall is “Science on a Sphere”, which is a large visualization system that uses computers and video projections to display animated planetary data on a 68” sphere.

Life Science Hall

The Life Science Hall invites visitors to explore the nature of human growth and development, the structure and function of the human body, and the impact of advancing technology on health care and choices.
